Review: Kirchlager has a voice ideally suited to the music at hand. Not rich, not plumy, only musical. This is a record to be heard not once but many times. As to the orchestra of period instruments: I’m sorry but they are consistently off pitch and it grates on my tympanum. Authenticity is one thing. Pitch is another. Recording is OK. The notes include texts
but curiously enough nothing about the singer. For those of you
