Review:

As always the fascination is as much with the esoteric music and it’s orchestration as it is with the musicianship necessary to assemble this very charming record.

As with other records from this group the results are stellar. There is one other record of the same group that has been unjustly neglected and is – I think! – Still available on Deutche Harmonia Mundi 05472-77375-2 devoted to the music of the blind Irish Bard Turlough O'Carolam which – is also a Must Buy.

The music ranges from echoes of the Aztec to the Latin Mass and from the almost brutally enharmonic to the profoundly moving settings of the Mass itself.

It is excellently recorded, richly documented and I’m sure you’ll like it.
