Part is on the list (7 performances/3 works)... Like I was getting at with Messiaen and Dutilleux, Gorecki also is one of those composers who misses the cut for the 25 years... Symphony No. 3 was written in 76 and thus is too "old"

Last night saw the return of Midori with the Philadelphia Orchestra... Up first was Berlioz' Roman Carnival which was played rather well by Eschenbach and the gang.. nothing too special, but enjoyable Followed by Midori and Britten's Violin Concerto... I think was the start of the theme of the night...

personally, i recommend the 2006 recording by the Takacs Quartet of Schubert's Death and the Maiden (str. quartet 14) which is paired with his 13th string quartet... the recording is simply beautiful and has been incredibly well received by critics... definitely first rate
