I find the works of Alan Hovhaness to be very satisfying. I read somewhere that he destroyed a great many of his compositions, it would be interesting to know his total output of music.

I too, love his Serenade For Strings. I find his work to be very listener friendly, while it is complex, he used rather simple but very nice melodies.

Trilogy, I have the 3 Symphonies on the ASV label and enjoy them all.
