The left uses its praise of minorities, many of whom lag behind for obvious reasons (Average African-American IQ: 89, Average Mexican IQ: 94), for moral superiority.

Find one recording you like, get an excellent conductor/orchestra, and listen to it until you understand how to grok music like it.

Then find a reviewer or poster whose taste you like, and download/buy/steal all of their favorites.

Good to have new faces aboard the culture train!

Respighi is great. He's not liked because of his modern style, which is less avantgarde than Debussy and less stormy than (say) Bruckner, giving it a slightly soundtracky feel. But the music is great. Very "Italian" in its forthright emotionality.

When has exploitation ever been less than totalitarian ? Most of it seems to happen under liberal democratic regimes hellbent on their god-given right to increase material wealth. Totalitarian is a very specific meaning and, interestingly, they seemed to be unwilling to perpetrate abuses in Africa....
