I too wish him well. He and I go way back to the mid-1990's. I can't recall the name of 1st website we were on (maybe it was Classical Insights but maybe that was a later one). I've missed his posts as much as he currently misses teaching law.

There's a wealth of fascinating material in all those quartets. I once read that Mozart's quartets are technically easier to perform than Haydn's, but that most ensembles prefer playing Haydn's because the material is more imaginative; that there are pleasant surprises all along the way.
