Donald Isler, our good friend and outstanding concert pianist, has just crossed the 1000 posts mark. Keep up the fine work on our site Donald. Your contributions are very much appreciated! Werner Isler - isn't he your father? [ ] is fast approching the 2000 post mark. So, you have some catching up to do! Evelyn Laden has a ways to go, but she'll get there, too!

Re Lance's comment: Evelyn Laden is always way behind - nothing new about that, and has no hope of catching up on this Board anytime soon. Nevertheless, congratulations, Donald Isler, on passing the 1,000 posts milestone. There was a time when I knew i was ahead of you, but not any more!

Thanks for the good wishes. Of course 1000 posts around here isn't a lot!
Werner has almost twice as many as I do, so I'm not likely to catch up. Evelyn doesn't have that many, but she's been writing for much of her adult life, including her autiobiography last year, so I'll probably never catch up there!

I cannot think of a post of Donald's that I have not enjoyed, and from a number I have learned something. I think that's what many of us are here for: The enjoyment, and the coffee-shop-like exchange of thoughts without rancour or prejudice. Congratulations, Donald. Say, does anyone call you "Don"? I have an Uncle Don[ald], my father's younger brother, whose name is more incongruous with my French surname than yours is with your German one. :D

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

Thank you all for your kind comments. Nice to know someone may have actually learned something from what I wrote, John! And yes, most people who know me call me Don.

Congrats, Don. I can't think of anyone I'd rather trade barbs with in the pub.
