HAPPY BIRTHDAY REBLEM...65 Today...October 25th 2007

Post by Chalkperson » Thu Oct 25, 2007 12:00 am

To me, and I am sure many others, you are a very special member of this Board, we can count on you every week to give us reports on your weekly listening pleasures, you always have interesting anecdotes about the CSO, and above all you speak so openly (and beautifully) about yourself, your Dog Scout, your Car, and how you live your life down south...well done Rob, I will be thinking of you throughout the next 24 Hours, I know that, as I write this, on the West Coast you still have two hours to go, but, it was important to me to be the one to start this thread...you da man, Reblem...Happy Birthday...chalkie

Happy Birthday, RebLem, and congratulations on your new found "seniority!"

I had a great aunt who also had this birthday, and she made it to 102! You're welcome to break her record!

I've said it before - but might as well say it on the actual day - as you become an apprentice Senior Citizen, keep your youthful and energtic view of things, and keep on being an ornament to this Board!

Thank you heartily one and all.

I didn't listen to much music, just a half a CD--The Beethoven Piano Sonatas 9 & 10 by Friedrich Gulda. Next up, for Friday, will be the Shostakovich 13 by Maxim, the last CD in his Supraphon set of the symphonies.

Then I went out and got my car washed at the Octopus Car Wash. $15 for the extreme, or most expensive, wash. Even at that, they had to send it through twice; you see, my assigned parking space is beneath a tree with lots of birds in it. Fortunately, in the lot, there is lots of unassigned parking, and I have decided to start using that whenever possible.

When that was over, it was already about 2 pm, so I decided it was time for breakfast. I am a late riser, and late go-to-bedder. So, I went to IHOP and had these two chicken florentine crepes. Then home to gather some bills together so I can do them Friday, and to ready Scout for a trip to the dog park, but, with the dog in the car, I went to a nail salon first, and got a pedicure and manicure. The pedicure is a medical necessity for diabetics, and the extra cost of a manicure is so small when you are getting the pedicure anyway, that I always get that done too--not often enough, really, only about twice a year. Then I took Scout to a dog park for a half hour. I usually try to stay at least an hour, but my sister and her husband were taking me out for dinner, and I had a 6:30 appointment that it was going to take a half hour to get to.

So, we went to dinner at Copeland's, a nice upscale chain of restaurants with a New Orleans influence. My bro in law gave me a gift card to Octopus Car Wash :) and they both gave me a nice gift cert to a big and tall shop. Then home to watch the last 7 innings of Game 2.

So, that was my day. Friday, I have to see Bill Runyon, our property manager; he and I and about 10 others are engaged in a vicious battle with two prima donnas on the board, a couple of aging, penny ante Eva Peron wannabees who have some petty grievances against Bill despite the fact that everyone else except these two knows he is the best manager we have ever had. They have fired him effective the end of this month, and it will be at least March next year, at our annual election, probably, before we will be able to put things right. We need to talk strategy for organizing a campaign to get a slate of candidates together for the Board and get a good turnout.

Then, I need to pay those bills, go buy some dog food (I'm all out of the wet dog food I prefer, and have only a bag of dry left) and a few other things, come back, and listen to some music before the evening. Friday night PBS has lots of great public affairs programming, including a local show from 7-8 PM about local and state politics, so I usually watch TV all through prime time Friday, though most other days, I watch HGTV with the sound off as I listen to CDs.

Well, its almost 2:15 AM. Time to go grab myself some snoozies. :D

Well, I think I'm your favorite irritating liberal and I know you aren't glad I hang here, but that's another topic.

Anyway, Happy Day, Reblem.

Since you brought it up, however, no, you aren't. He's got about 2ce as many posts as you, he writes greater quantity per post and more articulately, even if he does annoy the hell out of me, and he posts interesting articles that aren't always silly attacks on conservatives. I do have to admit, if you disappeared tomorrow, I wouldn't miss anything but your post count.
