One of my favorite pieces........It's one of those things that works for any occasion, literally.
It's a great opener for a concert. It's a great encore. And it's an encore that you can play after anything -- you can play it after a rollicking Liszt rhapsody, or after most solemn works that are hard acts to follow with anything.
BTW......y'all can hear me play it in person this Sunday at the Thalia/Symphony Space in New York.
Well, Saul, I enjoyed it! Except that it makes me wish desperately that I could play piano! And if I only associated with people who had never disagreed with me, I'd spend the rest of my life in a little room all alone. Sometimes it is good to focus on the things we do agree on--like the beauty and importance of music.SaulChanukah wrote:I dedicate my performance of this Chopin Valse Op. 64, No.2 In C sharp Minor for all the members of this site. Thanks for noticing (I sort of "hid" it a little)Lance wrote:Can you please give specifics on the recital, MarkC, time where to get tickets, etc. Maybe my daughter will stop by to catch the recital. Good luck with it. I hope you have a good piano!

Really want me to give it away? [smiley suppressed]Chalkperson wrote:I really love this image from the Website...did she win...
Saul, it is a great temptation. A couple of things stop me, at least for now. The time that I can find, I am choosing to devote to trying to improve my ability on the instrument I (sort of) play, which is clarinet, and to develop some skill on the "related instruments" that I own, which are basset horn and bass clarinet. I find it is hard to come up with enough time to make progress on those, and the thought of adding another is overwhelming. The other reason is that I have become accustomed to the very good to excellent piano playing of my friends, and I would be agonized by my limitations for at least the first 10 years of piano study--or forever! But perhaps when I'm 70 and retired, I'll give it a shot!NancyElla wrote:Nancy,
I'm glad you enjoyed this performance!
I really believe that its never late to begin learning the piano. My next door neighbor, is about 70 year old man, and he was inspired to begin learning the piano after listening to me play.
So if you love music, and want to do this, you can begin.
You're Welcome and Thanks!Donaldopato wrote:Wonderful Saul, THANK YOU!
