Werner Isler passes 4,000 posts on CMG!
Werner Isler, our esteemed Elder Statesman, has passed over 4,000 posts on Classical Music Guide. Werner has contributed greatly to our site, is a pianist in his own right, is highly cultured in the arts, and is a gentleman of the highest caliber. Please, let us ALL congratulate Werner on this major accomplishment. Come March 2011, Werner will have been active on CMG for all of six years! Thank you, and keep up the great work, Werner!

Well done Werner, it is a privilege to be on CMG with you: you are indeed CMG's elder stateman and a thorough gentleman too.

I've had the privilege of meeting up with Werner several times. The depth of his appreciation of great music is exceeded only by his urbane amiability. Congratulations on the milestone of 4000 posts, Werner.
There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

For me only once so far But what a pleasure to be able to sit at his table for our last dinner and what a job he did with the photos and what a job his wife did on the organization of it! Regards, Len

Congratulations Werner on reaching this milestone. I look forward to your next 4,000 posts.
Re: Werner Isler passes 4,000 posts on CMG!
Thank you, Lance, and thank you, everybody, for your kind words. CMG has been a factor in the lives and interests of so many, including yours truly.
About that starting date of my membership, though: everybody renewed their membership about that time after the site had ben hacked, and much background was lost at that point. We had - and still have - many old frieends as members from before that time, not to mention the many friends who have joined up since then.
I remember Lance as Editor-in-Chief, working with Ward Botsford, to whom I once addressed a suggestion that there might be a more suitable title for this board than he Chattterbox. Ward didn't think so, and the Chatterbox has been working fine ever since.
As for my own membership, my first contact with Lance goes back to thee early days of Prodigy, when Lance told me about CMG. And ow Lance is still the heart and soul of CMG, abetted by so many valuable members, some of whom have posted on this thread. If I mention no names, it's out of concern for neglecting those not mentioned.
May the new year brkng good music, good news, and good health to each one of you. And may CMG continue to live and prosper.
