I believe that this is a pianist that Cliftwood admires.
if you want to hear the Scarlatti the CD is available from NML. Someone burned me a copy a few years ago and relistening to it now I am surprised I haven't listened to it more often.

Ric, he is indeed and his Scarlatti sonata CD still remains at the top of my list of many, many performances.
He recorded another fine Cd on Titanic, which included the Chopin Scherzo # 4, Polonaise, Barcarolle and the Sonata op.58. I also have a superb recording of the Prokofiev 7th Sonata.
He was a superb artist and it's quite sad that he never achieved the prominence he so richly deserved.
He was at Curtis when I was there and studied with Vengerova, who was a severe taskmaster when technique was the issue. I might have had a different career if I was her student, instead of the other piano teacher.
He was very special and will be sorely missed by those who knew him and his artistry.

I have the Scarlatti on the Connoisseur Society 2-LP set and consider it one of the most beautiful piano recordings ever made. Along with Moravec's on the same label.

I am curious to know what brand of piano di Bonaventura used for these recordings. Does the LP jacket notes make reference to the piano?
