My clothes dryer plays Schubert

Post by Ricordanza » Sat Aug 18, 2018 6:32 am

It was my turn to go down to the basement and bring up a load of towels from the (Samsung) clothes dryer. The cycle was just finishing and the dryer was playing a tune to announce that. It took me a couple of seconds to recognize the tune--I'm not used to hearing it in tinkly electronic format--but it was unmistakable: The Trout by Schubert.

So thank you to this Samsung employee--whoever you are--who decided to insert a little classical music into the laundry routine.

Hank I know with smartphones you can change how you are notified of an incoming call-could you change the dryer's music-maybe something from Rossini? Regards, Len

I've always wanted a doorbell that played the trumpet fanfare at the beginning of the last movement of the Dvorak 8th Symphony.

Many years ago, I had employment at a place where the copy machine played the melody of Für Elise. Some folks came to me to identify it, but when I said what it was, they still didn't have a clue, and I had to add "Beethoven." Seems that none of them had ever had childhood piano lessons.

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.
-- Johann Sebastian Bach
