Thank you Lance, and the same to you and all my CMG companions.
We're more than half way through it in Australia - 1pm - and we are just awaiting the arrival of our guests for lunch.

Best wishes to Lance & Co. !
Good music is that which falls upon the ear with ease, and quits the memory with difficulty.

Re: Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to CMGers!
Yesterday, Christmas Day, my husband and myself left our beautiful hotel in the pouring rain and headed for a Christmas service at the Presbyterian Church in inner Auckland for a lovely morning of traditional carol singing, accompanied by wonderful organist and afterwards Christmas cake and coffee with the local congregation and some tourists like ourselves. We don't care what denomination of Christianity it is, but feel the need to be part of the Christmas ritual in a church. In Amsterdam a few years ago it was the Dutch Reform Church and the organ music of JS Bach. I actually sang "Oh, Come All Ye Faithful" in the Latin version I learned as a child; "Adeste Fidelis" (spelling, sorry)...wonderful stuff!!! The rest sang in English.
Christmas dinner was shared in the evening with my husband's daughter and her extended family (from his first marriage).

It sounds like everyone here had a warm and memorable Christmas Day as did I and the family! So many troubles in the world today ... PEACE would be welcome everywhere and would be a wonderful "gift" in itself. Now we have a new year around the corner and it can be a start new start to many things.
And so, did anyone get musical gifts that raised your passion for music?

As to gifts, I was lucky enough to receive TWO box sets, both the Szeryng and Alicia De Larrocha sets now grace my shelves. Both received a warm welcome into our household!Lance wrote: ↑Wed Dec 26, 2018 11:53 amIt sounds like everyone here had a warm and memorable Christmas Day as did I and the family! Also received the classic Ballo in maschera with Domingo DVD that I can't wait to break into!
