Johannes Brahms: 8 songs
Schumann: Frauenliebe und -Leben, Op. 42
Hartmot Holl, piano [Steingraeber & Songs piano]
Mahler: 5 Ruckert-Lieder
Munich Philharmonic Orchestra
Christian Thielemann, conductor

Fleming is still knocking out recordings … been a while since she has released an all-Lieder CD. While I haven' had the time to listen to this one yet, the program intrigues me. Lieder albums seem almost kind of rare today since the days of the legendary Fischer-Dieskau among others. It's the usual fine presentation/booklet that Decca issues. Just thought I'd let you know about it.

When she started to play, Mr. Steinway came down and personally
rubbed his name off the piano. [Speaking about pianist &*$#@+#]
