Jussen bros growing up

Post by Rach3 » Tue Oct 29, 2019 5:53 pm

The Jussen bros, still 20-somethings, but growing up, great performances here , IMHO, of challenging repertoire not previously much associated with them (?), certainly not pandering to their audience, my first hearing of the Kulenty, a Glass-ian exuberance, the Bartok amazes me every time, the Messiaen not my cup of tea ( my recording the Arbiter cd with Iren Marik and John Rank ), the Messiaen I suspect not played live often (? ), but seemingly superbly played here ( I heard about 45 minutes of the 60 - minute work ). Not to be missed and perhaps a download chance.Given the effort here, a recording soon ?

I just listened to these; thanks. These two musicians are growing on me daily, with their confidence, artistry and sheer talent. Fluent in at least 3 languages and looking every bit like movie stars, I'm sure they both have very bright futures.

I'm wanting to get my grandsons in Perth interested in serious music and will show them the Faure "Dolly Suite" performance from the Jusson Brothers when we are over there in December. The oldest boy (10) is highly intelligent but a bit cheeky just now. I changed the station on the car radio in August, away from the dreadful pop music that was on and switched to a local classical station and he asked, "is this what you call classical music"? (And, no, he wasn't quoting from George Axelrod's screenplay of "The Seven Year Itch" when Marilyn Monroe uttered those lines!). I think the Jusson Brothers might impress younger audiences very much. I'l give it a go anyway.

Two interviews, in English, the 2019 about non-CM topics mostly, which may be of interest to your 10-year old ( if the painting on wall is appropriate ), the other 2014 not as interesting with annoying background music:

I loved the first one, where they answered in sync. Absolutely adorable!! (My 3 boys would all provide different answers!!)
