Sunday Morning

Post by jack stowaway » Sat Jun 09, 2007 7:57 pm

No complacienes of the peignor in this suburban household; merely (strictly non-Christian) indulgences of the flesh and senses.

First, the routine of stepping on the scale (79 kilos! At last!), followed by a celebratory ham and cheese omlette. Then a huge mug of strong tea, a glance at the newspaper headlines [Paris!] followed by an absolute laze of a day.

Planned indulgences include television, some chocolate (revenge of the scale), a little music (The American Songbook - my own compilation), a visit to the local food market, a walk in the bright autumnal sunshine (16 degrees celsius), and a movie ('The Lives of Others').

I might also drop an email to a dear friend and take a gloriously sinful afternoon nap.

What have you got planned for your Sunday?

Pretty much the same as you, except that I doubt that Paris Hilton will be featured in the headlines of the New York Times.

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

I'll sip coffee on my porch overlooking the water and read The Old Curiosity Shop, pausing now and then to watch the birdlife. Later in the morning I"ll drive to Washington to see an afternoon soccer match between DC and New York. I'll spend the rest of the day catching up on the old movies I've recorded or listening to music.

Big barbecue festival in a Manhattan park, followed by a movie.
