Miracle on 34th Street: The TV version

There is a color re-make of this famous movie that is not very good, but until tonight I was not aware that a TV version was made in 1955. It was designed to fit into an hour broadcast, requiring some shortening. But there are also many other interesting changes, large and small. It is not the equal of the classic movie with Maureen O'Hara, but it is pretty darn good. (It doesn't hurt for my appreciation that Teresa Wright looked so much like my mother and at about the same time that it is scary.)

Serious fans of the film may think that the actor who briefly appears as Mr. Gimble (Herbert Hayes) is the same as in the movie. You would be right.

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.
