A staggering, unflaggingly brilliant film. One of the greatest American bio pics ever made.

My wife and I watched this recently, splitting it up over two evenings, It's a long film, but it seemed way too short in the latter half. I wished that more time had been spent on his conflict with the Nation of Islam. I didn't feel like the motivation for his assassination was sufficiently portrayed. Maybe there's a longer director's cut somewhere.

But it really is an amazing movie.
