Who should write your biography?

Post by Corlyss_D » Wed May 31, 2006 8:38 pm

Let's dispense with the idea that most of us don't think we've done anything that merits a journal, never mind a biography. Just think about whom you would pick, living or dead, famous or obscure, to write your bio.

Shakespeare or Kipling. Or both.

Jerome K. Jerome the author of "Idle Thoughts of an Idle Fellow."

With two parents who have each written their own autobiographies, and being quite convinced that no one else wil be interested enough to write about my life, if my biography is ever written I guess it will have to be done by me.

Alfred Brendel. If he can find such joy in Rattle's Mozart, just imagine what he can do for me!

I will write my own biography, I don't want any fiction :)

On the contrary, I need some fiction to liven it up. Given my background in law, I'll take either John Grisham or Scott Turow.

Well, I guess my obvious answer is Mark Twain (that way it would at least be a good yarn).

In reality, I choose Agnes Selby. And I'd like to write hers in exchange. :D

Biography

How very strange, Teresa, when I saw the heading I thought
of you immediately. I would love you to write my biography
perhaps because after all these years you probably know me
better than I know myself.

I will gladly write your biography anytime you want me to do so.

Regards,
Agnes.

Hi Corlyss,

Apparently Agnes tried to reply, but her post vanished. We do know each other, by emails. We haven't met in person, but I've come to adore and admire her.

Watch out Agnes, one of these days I'll be on your doorstep in Sydney! :D

Teresa, I am waiting for that moment when you appear on my
doorstep.

To Corlyss, Not only are we very good friends but it is thanks
to Teresa that I have been able to renew my friendship with
Charlotte and Werner Isler after more than 20 years.
What a small world we live in!!!

Regards,
Agnes.

Yah! He's got some priceless material in his writings. I used to serve with a government council. Every so often they would wander off the deep end, studying closely coverage they pretended to understand, and then vote unanimously to approve the language because they didn't. I would raise my little sign "An uncriticized consensus is a sure sign of impending trouble. - Stephen Jay Gould"

Well, gawrsh!

Actually, I'm more of the cat who looks at kings. And if it weren't for CMG, I never would have become acquainted with Werner, and he wouldn't have been alerted to Agnes' book, and...

Anyway, things go full circle, no?

To Teresa and Crolyss,

I can see your point, Corlyss. Sometimes I get bushed with Gould's
writings and then I run to Teresa....
