Help, trying to recall a female violinist's name
I think the first or last name starts with a B, but am not sure. She's relatively famous, but older than Mutter and Sallerno-Sonnenberg.

I can only think of twoliving_stradivarius wrote:I think the first or last name starts with a B, but am not sure. She's relatively famous, but older than Mutter and Sallerno-Sonnenberg.
Guila Bustabo
Iona Brown
Robert
Much too young!! Anne-Sophie was born in 1963 (I hope that's right). Older female violinists would also include Nina Beilina, Vera Beths, the recently deceased (and much older) Lola Bobesco, and the recently deceased (but not that much older) Iona Brown. Again, I hope I'm not insulting any one of these women because they do not all reveal their age....

What do you mean my "older?" What's the minimum age for "older?" And what kind of work did she do? Mostly concerto work, or chamber music, or both? What sort of repertoire was she noted for? Is she identified with any particular national school of players or composers? Any particular work or conductor or chamber group she is associated with?
The only one I can think of off hand that hasn't been mentioned yet is Iona Brown.
