Help, trying to recall a female violinist's name

Post by living_stradivarius » Thu Nov 29, 2007 3:35 pm

I think the first or last name starts with a B, but am not sure. She's relatively famous, but older than Mutter and Sallerno-Sonnenberg.

Much too young!! Anne-Sophie was born in 1963 (I hope that's right). Older female violinists would also include Nina Beilina, Vera Beths, the recently deceased (and much older) Lola Bobesco, and the recently deceased (but not that much older) Iona Brown. Again, I hope I'm not insulting any one of these women because they do not all reveal their age....

Hey, Henry, don't you have any better clues? Is she European or American? Did she play Bach or Berg? Was it a LP or a CD? All we've got is that she (probably) was older than Mutter....

None of those are the one I'm trying to remember. If I had more clues, I'd probably be able to figure it out by now.

We need KLEWS. :D

What do you mean my "older?" What's the minimum age for "older?" And what kind of work did she do? Mostly concerto work, or chamber music, or both? What sort of repertoire was she noted for? Is she identified with any particular national school of players or composers? Any particular work or conductor or chamber group she is associated with?

The only one I can think of off hand that hasn't been mentioned yet is Iona Brown.

Gee, Reblem, a couple of us must be off your reading list. She's already been mentioned twice

I'll just bet that no male can think of Linda Brava without some other association that would count as a clue.

If you can't remember her name and you can't remember anything else about her, why do you care? I'm puzzled.
