Chalkie passes 12,000 posts!

Post by Lance » Fri Mar 12, 2010 11:41 am

This puts our Chalkie into fourth position in terms of volume of posts on CMG. I am hoping to see Chalkie jump that 12,000 posts to double within a month or so. Please encourage Chalkie to post like there is no tomorrow!

Well, Lance, I don't know about doubling his own count, but he should have double mine before too long. I remember when we were running neck and neck, back when we each had about 1000 posts on the board ... When was that, anyway? Over 6 months ago, by now.

Congratulations, chalk person.

I've carefully calculated our relative posting rate and the official overtake Jbuck date is 24 August 2011. :)

There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

chalkie,
congratulations - you are sometimes grouchy, always erudite, unfailingly helpful and much more flexible than you are given credit for (after all, you did eventually convert to Argerich! :? ) To paraphrase Basil Fawlty " Don't mention the Rat (or Vlad the piano-pounder)"
Keep on posting!

Actually, you were a big help to me when I first joined, mentorlike in fact, when you got sick I took over your mantle and tried to use what knowledge I had to liven things up in your absence, quite how I got to this post count is always perplexing to me...

Yeah, the grouchiness has been showing thru of late, I apologize for that...as for flexibility, I will always try anything once, or even twice, but, the value of certain Composers, Musicians and Conductors sometimes just eludes me...

12,000 posts? Quiet type, eh? As always, Chalkie, I appreciate your wit, common sense, good taste, and gentle good humor. Guess I don't read the grouchy posts!
"Most men, including those at ease with problems of the greatest complexity, can seldom accept even the simplest and most obvious truth if it would oblige them to admit the falsity of conclusions which they have delighted in explaining to colleagues, which they have proudly taught to others, and which they have woven, thread by thread, into the fabric of their lives." ~Leo Tolstoy

"It is the highest form of self-respect to admit our errors and mistakes and make amends for them. To make a mistake is only an error in judgment, but to adhere to it when it is discovered shows infirmity of character." ~Dale Turner
