The Jussen Brothers

Post by Belle » Mon Sep 30, 2019 1:29 am

I've found this talented pair playing piano four hands. They're Dutch and what talented and gorgeous dudes they both are:

There are quite a few performances of theirs on U-Tube including this one of Faure's "Dolly Suite" and its dreamy reveries:

And wow!!

I have heard broadcasts of several of their concerts over the years and generally been pleased and do follow them. They also do solo works and concertos. Their recent Ravel cd was well regarded ( I don't have it ).Agood place to check for recent lives of their playing is the Netherlands Radio 4 website.

They appeared with the Philadelphia Orchestra this summer at Saratoga. I'm sorry I missed them.

I have enjoyed many of their videos on YouTube.

Lance, you could add them to your list of family musicians.

They have a new all-Bach cd just out on DGG I have not heard.

At YT as well,I believe. An excerpt:
'Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit', BWV 106: 2a

(Piano Transcription by György Kurtág):

( My Mac's auto -spell or whatever it is first corrected my typing to " all-back cd just out on Egg" ! )

Thanks for this. Jussens' entire Poulenc Two-Piano Concerto is on YT.Marvelous work; marvelous reading.
Seems like there were more young people among the actual performers on stage than in the audience !

Will check this out soon. The Stravinsky is a favorite! Have you seen the video on amazon with Barenboim and Argerich? Don't miss it!
