'Passione' w/Freddie de Tommaso, tenor

Post by Lance » Fri May 14, 2021 4:06 pm

Decca has just issued a fabulous new recital by tenor Freddie de Tomasso [485 1509] - his debut album, with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under Renato Balsadonna. I believe we have found a new tenor to match his own idol, Franco Corelli! 16 tracks coming in at 55'18", beautifully recorded. Here we have songs by Innocenzi, Tosti, Di Capua, Falvo, Puccini, Respighi, Cardillo, Leoncavallo, and a few others. One of the finest new recitals I have found on any label. Many of these songs are usually heard with piano accompaniment, however, given the sound of the LPO gives another rich dimension. Highly recommended to vocal/opera/song lovers.
