China defaulted on its debt when the Communist Party took over in 1949: just look at them now!

Democratic administrations always have the task of cleaning up the economic messes made by Republican administrations. The GOP strategy is to make economic conditions so miserable for ordinary citizens as to be just as bad as the 3rd world countries the immigrants are coming from. That's how they plan to stop all those brown people from crossing our borders.

Quite right, Mark. We were very prosperous during the 1950's and 1960's as a country when tax rates were nearly triple what they are now on high earners. Our famed highway system was built then, for instance. My grandfather was a prosperous Philadelphia lawyer and I well remember his complaints at the Christmas table!

Of course his income as a partner in a law firm allowed him to live very well regardless, making him and his son both presidents of the largest club there, but who's counting the small change?
