I just found this stimulating documentary on F.W. Murnau and his work. Mention is made of the great cinematographer, Karl Freund, who ended his career working on "I Love Lucy". It was something of a come-down for Freund but the compensation was his ingenious and game-changing three-camera set-ups for situation comedies filmed before a live audience.
