Donna Tarrt: The Goldfinch (2013)

Best book I've read in 6 months. About 2/3 of the way thru its 800 pages. Reads like 21st century Dickens. Tartt’s settings so far (NYC and Las Vegas) are tangible. And the early Park Avenue chapters have a different feel than the later Greenwich Village sequence. The characters are unforgettable.
